Kia’s latest introduction to the Indian market - the Carnival - offers an ultra spacious luxury car at an affordable price. Noticing a gap in the market for affordable spacious cars, Kia unveiled their new Carnival in 2020 and it is already gaining popularity. While its appearance resembles a minivan, do not be deceived - this car is all about luxury.
Sporting a Tiger nose chrome grille with wraparound LED lights and alloy wheels, the car adopts a wide stance and a premium appearance. The car comes fitted with sliding doors, which open to reveal interiors that feel ultra luxurious - with Nappa leather seats, three-zone climate control, Smart air purifiers, a dual-panel electric sunroof, and an advanced entertainment system. With all these features, it’s no surprise that the Kia Carnival won the Best Launch award at the Auto Expo Excellence Awards in 2020.
The most remarkable feature about this car is its seating capacity. The Carnival is available in five variants which range from a 7-seater to a 9-seater. The variants come in Prestige, Premium, and Limousine, and they each have their own seating options. The seats come equipped with VIP leg support and can be reclined for a very comfortable ride. With a BS6 compliant 2.2L (2199 cc) Diesel Engine, the Carnival gives a power of 200 PS with 440 Nm of torque. This car is only available in automatic variants, featuring an 8-speed Sportsmatic Transmission for extra speed and power.
The Carnival includes a state-of-the-art infotainment system with an 8-inch Touchscreen Entertainment System with 10-inch touchscreen displays for the middle-row seats. Its high-end variants come fitted with Kia’s UVO Connected Car Technology, which allows for a remote start and stop, and also shares updates regarding the car’s fuel levels, tyre pressure etc., which can be accessed using the UVO app. The app also has an option to be connected to a smartwatch, allowing the car to be accessed remotely using a smartwatch.
The car also comes equipped with many top-notch safety features - including 6 airbags (driver, passenger, side, and curtain airbags), front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera, cruise control, and hill start assist. The car’s structure is made with high strength steel for safety in the event of a crash.
Customers have reviewed this car as one of the luxurious, technologically advanced and a new luxury car in this segment and price range. It also qualifies as a superb car and has unparalleled comfort levels for long drives and is spacious too.
