First positioned as a city car, then as a subcompact car, Brio is a model produced by Honda and sold in countries like India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam. It was launched in the market in 2011 and it’s one of the smallest cars in Honda’s global line up. It was designed and manufactured specifically for markets of Thailand and India. With the traffic levels in these countries being high and a growing customer base of first-time car buyers, this model seemed well suited to attract many buyers in these markets.
This model was previewed as the New Small Concept. At the Thailand International Motor Expo, it was first shown in 2010. Since then, the car design has gone through minor changes in exteriors and interiors. The front bumper was redesigned for better visual appeal. The rear features a tailgate spoiler integrated with an LED high mount lamp. The newer version has bigger dials, new two-din infotainment system and a premium air conditioner unit. The thin front seats offer respectable lateral and thigh support, making this model comfortable and convenient for passengers and driver.
Honda Brio is a 5-door hatchback with a front-engine, front wheel drive layout. The four cylinder i-VTEC mill comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine makes 88PS of maximum power and 109Nm of peak torque.
