What are the travel related
emergencies the policy covers? |
|
There's
a lot you're exposed to
while traveling abroad.
And even though you've planned
everything down to the smallest
detail, there's no telling
when a calamity might strike.
A sudden illness, loss of
baggage, a financial emergency,
a medical emergency, loss
of passport, anything could
happen. That is why it is
a prudent decision to protect
yourself and your loved

Travel Health Insurance.
You can be sure you're covered
for a whole host of calamities
that may occur while traveling
abroad.
Medical
Expenses:Cash-free
cover for Medical
expenses and dental
treatment. In case of
out-patient medical
expenses, cash-free
facility is extended
where the amount payable
exceeds USD 400 only. In
other circumstances, the
medical expenses will be
reimbursed based on the
applicable norms.
Medical evacuation:
In the event of a
medical emergency where
circumstances prevent
you from being treated
for your condition
abroad, the policy
provides cover for
bringing you back to a
hospital in your native
place or a hospital
nearest to it. This is a
sub-limit of the Medical
expenses cover.
Repatriation of
mortal remains: The
policy reimburses the
family the cost of
moving the insured's
mortal remains from a
foreign country to
his/her residence or
provides reimbursement
of costs incurred in
conducting last rites
abroad.
Delay of checked
baggage: In the
event of the checked-in
baggage getting delayed
by more than 12 hours,
the policy covers cost
of emergency purchase of
replacement items.
Total loss of checked
baggage: Reimburses the
total loss of checked
baggage whilst in the
custody of the carrier.
Excludes Jewellery, cash
etc.
Loss of passport:
Covers the necessary
expenses incurred to
facilitate the process
of getting duplicate
passport or a fresh
passport.
Personal accident:
The policy shall pay
compensation to the
insured or the insured's
family in the event of
an accident resulting in
permanent disability or
loss of life of the
insured.
Hospital cash: In
addition to hospital
expenses, daily
allowance will also be
paid in the event of
hospitalization abroad
due to accident or
illness.
Personal liability:
Indemnifies against
legal liability arising
in your personal
capacity during the stay
abroad.
Financial Emergency:
The policy will replace
funds lost by the
insured as a result of
robbery or theft whilst
overseas.

Do I need to take travel
insurance each time I make
a trip or is one policy
valid for multiple trips
made over a period of time? |
|
You
get to choose what kind
of Insurance Plan you
would like – either a
plan covering a Single
Trip, or a plan covering
multiple trips (this
second plan is also know
an Annual Multi Trip
policy).
If you choose a Single
Trip policy, the cover
will be valid for the
duration of the trip,
(as selected by you).
You get to select the
exact duration of your
trip, and will need to
pay the premium for just
that period.
If you choose a Multiple
Trip policy, the cover
will be valid for one
year from the start date
of the policy. The
maximum duration per
trip under this option
can be either 30 days or
45 days (as selected by
you).
