All tyres should have a minimum tread of 2 mm.
Please check air in all tyres including the
spare tyre.
Brakes
Hand brake should work effectively. Foot Brakes
should be calibrated for effective functioning.
Lights
High beam, Low beam, Hom, Brake lights and Side
Indicator lights must be checked.
Wiper
Wiper arm and blade should function
properly. Wiper action should enable clear
vision of the road ahead.
Wash Fluid
Ensure top up of the wiper wash fluid.
While driving...
Maintain safe distance
Drive slowly and carefully during rainy
season. Remember it takes longer to stop the
car on the wet roads.
Maintain 3 times the distance with the
vehicle ahead of you for safety.
Drive your vehicle in the middle of the
road as water gets logged on the sides.
Follow the driving line of the vehicles
ahead of you. This will give your tyres a
dry patch.
Driving through water...
Drive slowly through the water puddles.
If the water level is above the sil of the
door, take alternative route to your
destination.
Check your brakes immediately after
coming out of water puddle Being wet, they
may be less effective Pump the brake pedal a
few times to improve their effectiveness.
During cloudy weather switch, on your
headlights in low beam. See and be seen.
Windscreen fogging
If the front windscreen fogs up, turn
the AC on and direct flow onto it and the
window glass, if necessary. If its a non-AC
car lower the windows a fraction.
With rear glass fogging, use a defogger
or turn on the AC. Lowering the windows will
defog the rear glass too.
