Critical Healthline
Today, even a single visit to the doctor or the hospital can leave you with an empty purse. Though medical facilities have improved by leaps and bounds, healthcare costs still remain unaffordable for many. Even treatments for minor ailments are not cheap anymore. So imagine the financial strain a serious illness can cause. This is when Chola MS Critical Healthline insurance protects you, so that you don’t have to worry about finances during life's important moments.
How is it different from a standard Mediclaim policy?
But isn't a standard Mediclaim policy enough?
Though a Mediclaim insurance covers both minor and critical hospitalization expenses, it does not provide for loss of income, mortgage repayments, educational expenses arising out of prolonged hospitalization, etc.
Chola MS Critical Healthline policy, on the other hand, gives you a lump sum if diagnosed with any of the listed illness (see list) without any hospitalization bill to help manage critical illness expenses, as well as other financial commitments, comfortably.
I already have life cover!
A life insurance policy pays your family when you are not around. Chola MS Critical Healthline policy pays you on the diagnosis of a life-threatening disease.

A critical illness cover is an insurance which pays you a lump-sum of money if diagnosed with having one of the critical illnesses (see list) covered under the policy. It would give you the security of knowing that a guaranteed cash sum will be paid if the unexpected happens.
It is a named illness insurance cover - which means that you can claim only for the illnesses specified under the policy. (see list)
Although the Critical Illness policy covers illness, it is not a Mediclaim policy. It is complementary to a Mediclaim policy, being an additional policy which can be taken along with Mediclaim.
Under a benefit policy, the insurance company pays the policyholder a lump sum amount. Whether the client spends the amount received on the medical treatment or not rests on his or her own discretion.
| Mediclaim |
Critical Illness |
| A Reimbursement policy: Reimburses your Medical Expenses |
A benefit policy: Pays lump-sum when diagnosed with a Critical Illness |
| You have to spend first and undergo treatment before the policy can pay you |
If you are diagnosed with a Critical Illness by a doctor and have diagnosis reports supporting it, you will be paid a lump-sum |
It would depend on you. How much would you need to repay your mortgage, overdraft, loans or any credit card balances? Choose the amount that would cover all of this and keep your debt free. The freedom that comes from being debt free does wonders for recovery.
